On Saturday, October 25 Crandall Park South held a hayride for the community at Crandall Park.
It was a wonderfully warm fall day with temperatures in the high 60s. Kids, parents, and neighbors climbed aboard the hay wagon to take turns riding around Crandall Park. With the afternoon sun filtering through the autumn leaves and the smell of hay in the air, we traveled slow loops along Redondo Ave and Tod Ave taking in views of the changing leaves and beautiful homes. Among the chatter, some of the children sang “Old McDonald had a Farm” as the hay cart slowly meandered around the park.
Afterwards, there was conversation and goodies to eat including roasted marshmallows in the fireplace at the recently renovated Tod Pavilion.
The tour was organized by Danielle Harrel and Nancy Carson. Also special thanks to Steve Moser, a neighbor in the area, who was helpful in providing a hayride cart and driver for the event.
